Everyone Talks Loudly in Chinatown

 

Glossary of terms

“The Brady Bunch” - The Brady Bunch is an old TV series about the life of the parents, their 6 kids and the maid, Alice. It’s more or less a comedy set in the 80’s. Several movies were made.

Chinatown – Chinatown is a small sector of town that resembles a typical Chinese city. All the sculptures of dragons, architecture and Chinese writing line the streets, where you can buy special imported goods. Spices, fish sauce, sushi, textiles, etc…

Encircling – This word means to continue going around and around something or someone.

“The Roadrunner” – An extremely funny cartoon show about a roadrunner (an bird native to Arizona in the U.S.A) and a coyote. The coyote always tries to kill the roadrunner, but his plans always go wrong. He ends up blowing up, getting crushed, fired through the air and falling down a cliff.

Pajamas – Clothes you wear to bed at night. They are usually decorated in cute teddy bears, or funny cartoons.

Exaggerated – To simply describe something to be much bigger, better or cooler than it actually is.
