The Hockey Sweater

Author Biography

Roch Carrier was born in Sainte-Justine, Quebec on May 13, 1937. As a child he could have possibly been one of Maurice Richard’s biggest fans.

Little did he know, he would one day grow up and write the most successful story about the deep rooted rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs. And this story known as The Hockey Sweater proved to be Roch’s greatest achievement. Although he didn’t have the same impact on the history of hockey as Maurice Richard, he did however leave his own mark respectively. In 2001, The Hockey Sweater was made into a movie Our Life with the Rocket.
